Round the bend on Chapman's Peak

Chapman's Peak is the name of a mountain on the western side of the Cape Peninsula about 15km from Cape Town.
The western side of the mountain falls sharply for hundreds of metres into the Atlantic Ocean,
Round the peak runs Chapman's Peak Drive which is no doubt one the most spectacular and scenic routes in the world.
The drive round the peak is totally amazing.
It beats all the great drives I have done in Calfornia and Australia!
It closely hugs the vertical face of the mountain from Noordhook to Hout Bay.
It has literally been hacked out of the mountainside.
The road was was constructed between 1915 and 1922 and was a major feat of engineering.
Chapman's Peak closed in the 1990s after a tragic acident but reopened in 2008 after considerable re-enginered to protect motorists from falling rocks.
