Little rivers grow




















We sometimes remember the 'big' rivers of England.
Names like the Thames, Severn, Wye, Usk, Trent, Mersey and Tyne are some that trip off the tongue.
But what of the little rivers that grow these.
The picture above is the River Colne at Batchworth, near Rickmansworth. 
The Colne flows into the Thames near Staines. 
Londoners may be familar with the name but not its course.
In Berkhamsted earlier in the week the River Bulbourne was much in evidence as it feed water into the Grand Union Canal on its way to Brentford.
