Tate and Lyle: the home of sugar

Looking towards Silvertown on the north bank of the Thames.
And there is Tate and Lyle's Thames Refinery.
Called by some 'the home of sugar'
It's the largest sugar refinery in the EU and one of the largest in the world.
It was even opened by Mr Tate and started operating from this site in 1878.
The refinery receives vast cargoes of raw sugar can from countries the world.
