A hive of activity.
And plenty of noise.
These two wharves on the Thames near Woolwich receive boats almost daily.
The boats bring in marine dredged aggregates from one of the licensed areas available for dredging around the UK.
Some 2.5 million tonnes of aggregates arrive by boat here each year!
Angerstein Wharf was named after John Julius Angerstein (1732- 1827), a local entrepreneur.
Murphy's Wharf is Europe's largest sea-dredged aggregates terminal
