A remnant of the Forest of Middlesex

Nothing better than walking through trees.
I was fortunate today to get to Highgate Wood
This is one of London's special places.
It was once called Gravel Pitt Wood and is a remnant of the Forest of Middlesex.
It is one of the many pieces of land acquired by the Corporation of London in the 19th century for Londoners' recreation!
Today I walked it and on to Queen's Wood nearby.
