Today I got to the southern end of the Oxford Canal. What a great journey it has been. I remember starting at Lock 1 at Hawkesbury Junction and since then I have cruised some wonderful open landscapes, chugged through woodland making emerald tunnels and well as some interesting and sad urban scenes.
This picture is the elegant cast iron bridge at the Oxford end of the canal. It spans the entrance to Lock 46. This is a lock with two names. Is it Isis or Louise Lock? The Pearson Canal Companion and the Nicholson Guide use different names.
