Hovercraft on the Itchen

There was an enormous roaring sound.
It was really loud.
What was it?
Then it came into sight.
A small craft in the middle of the stream with a really large jet of water shooting from the rear.
It was a hovercraft!
And to prove it the craft zoomed off the water and along the mudflats and then back to the water.
What a surprise for Friday night.
