I have been meaning to become a member of this wonderful club for many years.
I have walked past it on Acton High Street for years and years...............
It is actually a private members club for trade union members.
I had a membership form. found my trade union membership card but never got round till it yesterday lunchtime.
I paid up and they arranged a quick committee meeting and I was in!
So last night I slipped round for a swift half or two.
What a wonderful little place it is too,
Its full of characters all enjoying a peaceful drink.
They currently seem to specialise in Nelson Ales (a microbrewery in Chatham).
There is also lager on draft and a good selection of bottled beer.
Drink is amazingly well priced!
They have a range of activities such as a film club, and quiz nights.
Upstairs a community theatre meets.
This is a place well worth joining and visiting regularly.
