What a great sign

This is the sign to mark your entrance to Bitterne Park Triangle.
This part of Bitterne which is on the outskirts of Southamton.
'The Triangle' as it is know locally is at the eastern end of Cobden Bridge which links the area to St. Denys on the western bank of the River Itchen.
Although the area is mostly residential it has a good few shops clustered arround the triangle formed around the clock tower.  The local bank has long gone (they say twenty years ago) and the Post Office went last year.  The old chemist with its curved windows has now closed. But there are plenty of food shops including a bakers and a butchers and a good but small Co-op supermarket.  The couple of cafes and the three Chinese take-aways and the couple of Indian resturants do a great trade
In the last year Tesco Express has arrived a hundred yards up the hill from the Triangle.  It opened on the site of a Shell petrol station.
This has led to local 'protest' and moves to support the shops in the 'Triangle' more!
