A cool September evening on old River Thames
Peace away from the gathered hordes.
The sun makes one last glow as it reflects on the modernist skyline
The ferry buzzs across the river
Then there is stilness as the light begins to fade.
The tide is turning and the waves lap as the river rattles over stones.
Across the river the modern city appears so alive.
It is not the workers of the multi-story blocks have long trudged home
But the lights burn brightly
