Some canal history saved

Some say that redeveloped has transformed the centre of Banbury.
Others will say it has ruined it!
The once famous Castle Quay has gone.
Knocked down and first a bus station built on the site.
It is now an enormous shopping centre.
Luckily,Tooley's Boatyard remains, a touch redeveloped through!
It was in Banbury in 1955 that a campaigning boat rally was held to fight proposals to abandon the Oxford Canal

The Oxford Canal is as busy as ever and thank fully it still passes through the centre of the town with a flurry of bridges and the narrow lock. As they say use it or loose it.
